Keynotes for College Students

Hazing Prevention. Leadership Development. Student Recruitment. Community Relations.

These are all critical topics for college students and campus organizations today.

Dr. Ray Lutzky is a nationally recognized speaker for college students, organizations, and Greek life. Ray’s presentations offer a blend of humor, data and an engaging presentation style to keep college audiences listening. He was previously sponsored by the NCAA as part of National Hazing Prevention Week, and was a speaker for CAMPUSPEAK from 2005-2009.

Ray has worked with many national Greek letter organizations for customized recruitment seminars, and from 2007-2012 Ray was a Master Steward and recruitment trainer for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Read more About Ray.

The PR War Room: Strategic Communications and Community Relations for Fraternities and Sororities

This customized presentation takes your students into the “PR war room” to show them how a strong community and campus relations program can lead to outstanding success. The program includes discussion about the origins of perceptions and stigmas associated with fraternities and sororities. Ray explores why the media seems intent on reporting “only the bad” for Greeks, and the real dangers facing chapters across the US. The program incorporates marketing/branding tactics and techniques to “get your message out” as a part of a values-based approach to eliminating Greek stereotypes. “The PR War Room” has been featured at the Northeast Greek Leadership Association conference, the Southeastern Panhellenic Conference, and a host of other Greek life meetings. Ray’s presentation is depicted in the 2005 New York Times bestseller “Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities” by Alexandra Robbins.

Branded: How Hazing Hurts Communities

Hazing activities, while often devastating to the individual, campus organization, or team, can have a ripple effect through a campus community that can last just as long. When catastrophic events come to light they can influence the beliefs and perceptions of students on campus and members of the local and national community.  While in some cases this discourages students from considering membership, it can conversely reinforce a culture of hazing among Greeks and other student organizations that will ultimately lead to their demise. This presentation confronts the issue of hazing from multiple perspectives to demonstrate the terrible consequences that result.
